Flights to Scandinavian airports of Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm have been lower in 2015 than years past due to competition from Norwegian, Icelandair and Wow Air flying these routes at low cost fares.
Star Alliance has United Airlines with SAS, Swiss Air and Lufthansa for Scandinavia access.
Oneworld has American Airlines with British Airways access to the Nordic countries and Iberia covering the south.
Skyteam has Delta Airlines with KLM, Air France and Alitalia covering European routes, not to mention Aeroflot.
Norwegian Airlines has offered fares under $400 roundtrip between Stockholm, Sweden and Oakland, California this year.
