Hurricane Odile ravaged Los Cabos last September when it unexpectedly tracked east over land along the Baja Sur peninsula as a category 3 hurricane rather than veer out to sea. The unexpected landfall stranded 26,000 foreign tourists on the Baja peninsula, most in resort hotels that were about half full as the 125 mph winds hit Cabo San Lucas.
Many of the hotels damaged by Hurricane Odile have reopened, yet there are still several major hotel brand properties months away from opening for 2015.
