Conrad Hilton, 20, great-grandson and namesake of the Hilton Hotels founder and brother of Paris Hilton, appeared in U.S. District Court yesterday on charges of interfering with the flight crew of British Airways 269 from London to Los Angeles. On flight BA269, July 31, 2014, Conrad Hilton was reported to have been out of his seat about 20 times during the 10.5 hour flight, including pacing the aisle during the aircraft’s initial ascent from London Heathrow. He refused to return to his seat when the seatbelt sign was on. When told he needed to return to his seat, he sprinkled the cabin crew with a generous supply of F-bombs. When flight attendants tried to calm Mr. Hilton down, he stated a male passenger was giving him the stink eye. At some point he allegedly smoked marijuana in the lavatory and was confronted by the co-pilot. He fled to another lavatory where he smoked a cigarette.
A flight attendant told the FBI she never witnessed a passenger “lose it” over a period of four hours on an aircraft.
He threatened to kill a flight attendant. His rant included referring to other passengers and crew as peasants and his dad would pay off this flight incident like he had before when “Dad paid $300,000 last time.”
Conrad Hilton eventually fell asleep and the flight crew handcuffed him to his seat for the final 90 minutes of the flight.
Yesterday, Conrad Hilton was charged in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles with ‘interfering with a flight crew’. He faces a term of up to 20 years in prison if convicted. He was released on $100,000 bond and ordered to appear for arraignment on March 5 and continue receiving mental health counseling.
Conrad Hilton told the FBI he had taken a sleeping pill for the long-haul flight.
Another case for the GrawliX-Files. Conrad Hilton is inducted into the GrawliX-Files for ‘crazy f#@king s#@t that happens when you are a wasted traveler’.
