Club Carlson brings the best hotel promotion for guests to start 2015 compared to the competition. Extend Your Stay, Earn 30K offers 15,000 bonus points for 2-night stays and 30,000 bonus points for 3-night stays at all Club Carlson hotel brands worldwide from January 12 to March 29, 2015. There is no limit on bonus points earned during the promotion.
To illustrate the high value of this offer, the 15,000 bonus points earned from a 2-night stay is equivalent to $750 in hotel spend for a Club Carlson member without elite status. Club Carlson members earn 20 base points per dollar at all brands worldwide. There are hundreds of Country Inns & Suites in the USA and Park Inn properties around the globe where a 2-night stay can be bought for $150 to $200.
30,000 bonus points is equivalent to $1,500 in base points earning for Club Carlson stays. Assume $100 per night for a $300 paid stay and that is 5x bonus points per $1 above the base points earned on a hotel stay.
Club Carlson Visa members truly get incredible deal with this promotion.
While I do not participate in credit card marketing on Loyalty Traveler, I am a Club Carlson Visa card member. Benefits of Club Carlson credit card include complimentary Gold Elite membership and one free night on reward stays of two or more nights. Club Carlson Visa members also earn 10 points/$1 for Carlson-Rezidor hotel spend.
Assume $200 for a 2-night stay as a Club Carlson Visa member.
- 4,000 base points ($200 in spend at 20 points/$1)
- 1,400 Gold elite points (35% bonus points at 7 points/$1)
- 2,000 credit card points (10 points/$1 for Club Carlson Visa payment)
- 15,000 bonus points (Extend your Stay bonus Jan 12-March 29, 2015)
- Total points = 22,400 Club Carlson points.
- Club Carlson earning rate > 100 points/$1
My stays last month in London using the Club Carlson Visa benefit of one free night meant 50,000 points paid for two reward nights at hotels where the average room rate was around $400 per night.
For me, this Club Carlson promotion is an opportunity to spend $200 to $300 per extended stay at low cost hotels and earn enough points for hotels in London and elsewhere when room rates are $300+ per night.
This past weekend I booked hotel stays in Salt Lake City for IHG hotels and reward nights for Country Inns & Suites and Radisson hotels. This new promotion will likely cause me to change my paid stays from IHG to Club Carlson.
I booked a two-night reward stay for 28,000 points at Radisson Salt Lake City Downtown for later this month rather than pay $350 for the stay. This Club Carlson promotion allows me to earn nearly all those 28,000 points back for less than $200 in hotel spend at a lower priced property.
Looks like Club Carlson and me will be spending quite a bit of time together over the next three months. I am itching to get a winter ticket to Stockholm on Norwegian Airlines for under $400 all-in and Club Carlson points make hotel stays in Scandinavia a real bargain.
Hyatt Gold Passport will have to come up with a very compelling offer next week to tear me away from Club Carlson points earning opportunities this promotion quarter.
