What perfectly wrong timing for me! We leave Thursday morning for Andaz Maui and would have loved to use a 10% off GC for the exorbitant parking and additional charges. Too bad.

Max M – I did not see dates listed for this offer. Last year the 10% off sale ran through December 31.

What’s the limit on the amount of gift cards that can be purchased?

  • Glenn November 3, 2014

Yes you will get the 5% Amex Open rebate for buying these cards which will show up as being sold by Hyatt corporate, where charges at Hyatt House and Hyatt Place would normally NOT earn you this rebate, so this trick allows you to save ~15% on Hyatt House and Hyatt Place stays.

    Loyalty Traveler and readers:

First off, thanks so much for writing about the Hyatt Gift Cards 10% off promotion for Hyatt Gold Passport members. I wanted to help answer some of the questions posed:

    1. Promotional dates: The 10% off offer is valid through 11:59 PM CST on December 31, 2014.

    2. In the coming weeks we will indeed have a new eCommerce platform that will allow for 10% off Hyatt eGift Cards and free shipping on Hyatt physical (plastic) Gift Cards.

    3. You will receive OPEN savings on this promotion.

    4. There is no total limit to the amount of value you purchase, however federal regulations only allow $2000 per card/per day and $10,000 per person/per day, thus our systems will restrict you on a daily basis to these purchase restrictions.

If anyone has additional questions, feel free to direct them to chicago.giftcards@hyatt.com.

Todd – Manager, Hyatt Gift Cards
