This week’s SPG Hot Escapes has about 150 hotels available for booking at discount rates through Saturday, August 9 for stays over the next six weeks.
Rates are prepaid and nonrefundable.
New York has a couple of hotels at a late summer discount under $200 per night (before tax).
New York Westin Grand Central for $182 to $197 for some August Saturday and Sunday nights.
W New York Downtown shows a teaser rate of $171 available for one date only, tomorrow night August 8. Next Friday and Saturday is $189 for Aug 15-16. Weekday rates are typically $400+ after tax.
The under $100 club this week includes:
Westin Columbus Ohio ($98) for August 15-17.
Sheraton Omaha Nebraska ($90) most Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
Several Phoenix hotels are under $80 per night if you want some serious heat and swimming pools.
Atlanta has some low rates. Westin Buckhead Atlanta at $103 is a good deal for this hotel. Several weekends offer Friday and Saturday night rates at $103 to $110.
Sheraton Davos Hotel Waldhuus, Switzerland is a highly rated 4.4 of 5 stars with rates from $126 to $150 for seven of eight nights from September 6-13. One night is $171.
Sheraton Noosa Resort in Queensland, Australia was one of my favorite hotel stays with a small-town beach resort atmosphere. My wife and I stayed in Starwood Hotels in Australia back in 2003 to earn a 50,000 bonus points promotion for stays in five different Starwood Hotels brands. The water at Noosa was warm enough to swim comfortably even in their July winter month. Weekdays in August and September are $171 to $175 rates compared to weekends in the $400 per night range. Noosa National Park offers great hiking opportunities.
