Travel: Celebrate Pride in SF — Across the USA Mark your calendar for this weekend’s party in the city. Kimpton starts the party tomorrow night at the Starlight Room atop the Sir Francis Drake Hotel. If it somehow has never come to your attention, Kimpton Hotels prides itself on being a gay-friendly hotel brand based in San Francisco and spreading across the nation. Listen up San Antonio. Kimpton’s Hotel Emma is coming to you.

Travel: Needle and Thread Count: An SF Tattoo Getaway – Yeah, Kimpton has a tattoo hotel package rate.

Eat + Drink: A fast and easy Heirloom Tomato Salad Recipe.

Design + Style: 10 San Francisco Shops that inspire our design team. I can’t help but think of Edina and Patsy in the British comedy Ab Fab when hotels and shopping are the game plan. And that reminds me my wife’s friend borrowed and never returned our Ab Fab DVD set.

Travel: Urban Biking – We’re definitely along for the ride. Kimpton’s bike program is a hotel industry service innovation that I think will expand across other brands over the next decade as hotels trend to wellness lifestyle.

Eat + Drink: A Summer Pasta Recipe from Savannah’s Pacci Restaurant. One of these days I’ll publish my cookbook for ten great meals from Costco ingredients.

Design + Style: Outdoor Living Ideas: How to Turn Your Life Inside Out. Ideas for making your outdoor living space green. Fortunately, we already have a forest treehouse environment with the beach a 25-minute walk.

Design + Style: Vintage Glassware and a Punch That Packs a Wallop. My cabinets are full of glasses. We used to buy local crystal factory glasses on our trips. This January Kelley and I celebrated 25 years of marriage and drank a 25-year old bottle of Hardy’s Ale in our Edinburgh crystal glasses we purchased during our 1989 honeymoon trip.

Inside Kimpton: The Brice is Open in Savannah, Y’all. The bellman at The Bohemian Hotel Savannah Riverfront suggested I check out The Brice while in town. I could not fit it in my schedule. No doubt I’ll be back in Savannah again some day. I loved that city on my trip last month.

Inside Kimpton: Hello, Winston-Salem. The 1929 art deco design RJ Reynolds Building will be a 211-room Kimpton Hotel next year. The blog piece states the architects copied and enlarged their RJ Reynolds design in the creation of the Empire State Building two years later.

Travel: Perfect Partners for San Francisco Shopping. Looking to shop in San Francisco? There’s an app for that.

Travel: The Perfect Picnic in San Francisco. Another Kimpton hotel rate package for a picnic lunch. Kelley and I have more than 30 years of experience and memories with picnics in San Francisco. Golden Gate Park is a great place to get lost.
