Stay at two Aloft hotels Latin America for 10,000 bonus Starpoints June 1-Sep 30, 2014

Starwood Preferred Guest has a great 10,000 points bonus offer for stays at two different hotels of five Latin America hotels in the Aloft brand June 1 to September 30, 2014. Stays also earn double points.

SPG members must register for this offer by July 31, 2014.

Check in to double your earnings at any of these Aloft hotels:

I view 10,000 bonus Starpoints as $250 in future hotel stay value. Essentially, two separate one-night stays at two different Aloft Hotels should more than pay back the cost of the two nights.

A couple traveling together can make a trip to two of these destinations and get $500 in value from four hotel nights. For example, Person A books a one night paid stay at Aloft Cancun, Person B books a one-night paid stay at Aloft Cancun for the next date. This means the couple traveling stay at the same hotel two consecutive nights under each other’s reservation and both SPG members earn Starwood hotel stay credit. Repeat at one of the other Latin America Aloft hotels and both members will earn 10,000 bonus points each after completing two stays at two different Aloft hotels.

This kind of rebate on a potential vacation trip means much of the expense of the trip can be earned back from the hotel stays.

Sample Aloft hotel rates:

Aloft Cancun, Mexico $98 Friday, July 11. SPG category 2 hotel at 3,000 points per night on Friday or Saturday.

Aloft Bogota Airport, Colombia $85 Sunday, June 29. SPG Category 3 hotel at 7,000 points per award night or 3,500 points + $55.

Aloft San Jose Hotel, Costa Rica $76 Friday, July 11. SPG category 2 hotel at 3,000 points per night on Friday or Saturday or 2,000 points + $35 Cash & Points.

One paid night can be supplemented with low cost award stays for an extended stay that qualifies for points. Or stay one night and move on to other lodging options.

These five Aloft Hotels in Latin America did not opt out of the current SPG triple points promotion, so Sunday night earns triple points at these hotels for stays by July 31, 2014. Double points are available at these five hotels through September 30, 2014.

Summer may not be the best season for travel to some of these countries, but the bonus Starpoints give high travel rebate incentive to travel to two of these places over the next four months.

The long promotion season and good value for 10,000 Starpoints for future Starwood Hotel stays offers a good reason to think about Mexico, Central America and Bogota for a leisurely getaway in an international location.

Terms & Conditions

SPG® TWO FOR YOU TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Member must register online at spg.com/twoforyou by July 31, 2014, 11:59 p.m. EDT. Member can earn double Starpoints® after every eligible paid night at any Aloft® property in Latin America (Aloft Bogota Airport, Colombia; Aloft San Jose Hotel, Costa Rica; Aloft Cancun, Mexico; Aloft Guadalajara, Mexico; and Aloft Panama, Panama). Member can earn a one-time 10,000 bonus Starpoints after completing an eligible paid night at two or more Aloft properties in Latin America during the promotion period. Member may earn Starpoints for nights from June 1, 2014, through September 30, 2014 (the “promotion period”).

An eligible night is a night at any Latin American Aloft property paying an eligible paid rate during the promotion period. Nights do not have to be consecutive and can be accumulated across multiple stays.

An eligible rate is any rate that is eligible to earn Starpoints in the Starwood Preferred Guest® program. Free Night Awards and Cash & Points Award nights are not eligible toward promotional Starpoints earnings. A description of eligible stays and eligible rates can be found at spg.com under the program terms and conditions. See Section 1.4 for the complete definition of eligible rates, but note that certain prepaid rooms where the booking is made through a third party (including but not limited to travelocity.com, expedia.com and orbitz.com) are not eligible rates and do not earn Starpoints or qualify toward promotional earnings.

Double Starpoints will be credited to the member’s account within 2–4 weeks of the stay posting to the member’s Starwood Preferred Guest account following the eligible nights. If an eligible paid night is completed at two or more Aloft properties in Latin America, the one-time 10,000 bonus Starpoints will be credited to the members account within 2–4 weeks after the promotion period has ended.

This promotion may be combined with other Starpoints promotions in market during the same time; however, earnings are exclusive of each other.

  • “Summer may not be the best season for travel to some of these countries”

Can you explain why you think summer is not the best season for travel to Mexico, Bogota, Costa Rica, and Panama? I’m visiting all four of these countries within the next four months.

Generally more rain and heat in summer months for Central America. July to September are shorter dry season months for Bogota.

Winter months are peak tourism months for most of these places.
