Airbnb is the 5th largest hotelier globally by number of beds according to the article. The company has a $2.7 billion valuation.
Brian Chesky founded Airbnb in 2008 and Chip Conley, founder of the Joie de Vivre hotel chain is now an Airbnb executive. They have plans for growing Airbnb.
