You may have noticed recently when browsing on the websites of InterContinental Hotels Group or IHG Rewards that a new hotel brand logo is on the website. EVEN Hotels is the new IHG brand opening in 2014.
EVEN Hotels states its focus is on wellness-minded guests. The color schemes make me think of this is IHG’s version of a new upper midscale brand like Starwood Aloft or Hyatt Place.
The hotel design features enhanced fitness room, comfortable lobby spaces and healthier food choices.
Personally, I love biscuits and gravy at Holiday Inn Express, but more than one or two times a month is too much unhealthy food when traveling. Hitting a string of midscale chains like Country Inn, Fairfield and Holiday Inn Express on consecutive days for breakfast is nutritionally explosive to my system.
EVEN hotels has webpages of curated material for travelers covering diet, fitness and travel topics under the banner Well well well…It’s about time Travel and Wellness got together.
Well Well Well Taste is a food and diet webpage with curated articles for travel wellness on the diet front.
Free internet in the room and around the hotel is offered at EVEN hotels.
Well Well Well Keep Fit covers the exercise front.
Well Well Well Journey offers tips for traveling healthier.
Beyond the community building efforts, what is in the hotel rooms?
EVEN hotel rooms will feature all-natural eucalyptus linens. Fresh scents, live plantings and natural materials will greet guests. Glass-enclosed showers will be a bathroom feature.
I am curious about the live plantings. My wife has trouble with live plants in a hotel room.
There are no EVEN Hotels open yet. Two hotels are listed on the website and these properties are currently scheduled to open Spring 2014:
- EVEN Hotel Norwalk, CT is a 129 room conversion property.
- EVEN Hotel Rockville, MD is a 167-room hotel in the D.C. suburb.
Three other locations have been announced. Two midtown Manhattan EVEN Hotels will open in mid-2015, along with one EVEN hotel in Brooklyn.
3. EVEN Hotel, West 35th Street, New York.
4. EVEN Hotel East 44th Street, New York.
5. EVEN Hotel, Brooklyn, New York. 204 rooms on 13 floors.
EVEN hotels offer in-room fitness options and made-to-order food that can be packaged for grab and go service.
EVEN rooms offer cork flooring for in-room fitness zone.
Find EVEN Hotels on Twitter https://twitter.com/EvenHotels or Facebook http://www.facebook.com/EvenHotels.
EVEN Hotels sound so much like Aloft hotels. I’ll be interested in comparing the two brands, however, the initial hotel locations are kind of far from California.
