Kimpton buys Sedona, Arizona Amara Resort

Kimpton Hotels has purchased the Amara Resort & Spa in Sedona, Arizona. This 100-room boutique hotel is a popular property in uptown Sedona. The acquisition of the Amara gives Kimpton three hotels in Arizona (Phoenix, Scottsdale and Sedona) and 59 hotels nationwide in 25 cities.

Amara Resort completed a $2 million renovation in September 2012.

TripAdvisor ranks Amara #16 of 43 hotels with 76% thumbs up rating. Guests rave about the room views of Sedona’s red rocks.

Rate Check

This week’s standard rates range from $179 for a 380 sq.ft. Patio King to $290 for a 720 sq.ft. Creekside King Suite. There is a $22.55 per night resort fee. Hotel tax rate is over 17%.

There is a grand opening rate discount and dining credit package available through September 3, 2013.
