Accor Hotels Accor Hotels - ALL loyalty program Contests and Sweepstakes Hotel Loyalty 2012-Q4 promotions

Le Club Accorhotels Facebook game for 2,000 points = $60 hotel credit

Le Club Accorhotels has Discovery Tour, a Facebook geography quiz to match 10 Accor brand hotels with pins already located on the world map.

You earn 50 points for each correct answer, 500 points for all ten correct answers and one entry into bigger points prizes for 15,000 points (40 winners) and 1,000,000 (one million) points for one Grand Prize Winner.

The game runs from Tuesday, October 16, 10am Paris time through Tuesday November 13, 9:59am Paris time.

Le Club Accorhotels “Discovery Tour” Facebook contest

The best feature of this four week promotion is the potential to earn 500 points each week. There is no time limit to the game so you can always look up each hotel and verify the location before pinning the map. Also, you can change your choices and move hotels to different pins before you actually submit your answers.

The game started last week and Just Another Points Traveler, another BoardingArea.com blogger, posted the offer October 17 with some helpful hints.

Earn up to 2,000 free Accor points

The game is running four weeks. Unfortunately, this is the second week of the giveaway. If you earned points last week, then you are on target to earn 2,000 Accor points.

2,000 points is the magic number for redeeming Accor points.

2,000 points is the number of Accor points needed to redeem points for a hotel voucher value of USD$60 or 40 EUR.

2,000 Accor points = hotel voucher worth $60 USD or 40 EUR.

Last week I planned to post this offer, but then the game had technical problems and wasn’t working for a period of time. I registered and played early last week, but even I had a technical glitch and I am not sure my geography game submission registered correctly for 500 points.

Another feature of the Facebook game that will keep some people away is the message I get on my computer:

Content was blocked because it was not signed by a valid security certificate.

There seem to be some issues with this game. Approach at your own risk. I simply clicked through the warning and played last week and today for 500 points each week.

Accor points from this game will post three weeks after the contest ends.

    Quick question:

I’m playing the game with a view to paying for most of a $120 hotel room. I can combine my certificate with my wife’s certificate to get $120 off for a single night? I think the answer is yes, but I’m not absolutely sure.

  • Ric Garrido October 23, 2012

Vouchers are transferable. Points are not. You can combine both vouchers for $120 hotel credit.

    Excellent. Thanks Ric.

Any idea of if this would extend the expiration of points or if just a stay would? Since the points expire in 12 months, it may not be worthwhile if this is the only source of points for someone.
