Loyalty Traveler SPGAmex Star US Open 50,000 points Sweepstakes #2

This is the second of six SPG Amex Star giveaways on Loyalty Traveler in 2012. The US Open Experience is your chance to win 50,000 Starpoints in a Loyalty Traveler sweepstakes sponsored by The Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express.

My prize as a 2012 SPG Amex Star is a trip to New York Westin Times Square in four weeks with tickets to the US Open tennis match. Generally I prefer watching sports from the comfort of my couch with my TV, kitchen food and beer. Perhaps the SPG Luxury Suite with food and beverages will change my attitude about the best location to view a sports event.

Win 50,000 Starpoints to redeem at a world-class tennis resort like The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort or The Phoenician, Scottsdale, which features an on-site, professional tennis instructor available for private lessons.

SPG Moments Opportunity to attend US Open Tennis

Win this 50,000 Starpoints prize on Loyalty Traveler and you will have enough points to bid for an SPG Moments auction for the US Open and hopefully plenty of points left over for a night or two at a New York Starwood Hotel. Bids for SPG Moments US Open experiences start at 1,000 points for US Open tickets and access to the SPG Luxury Suite 110 at the US Open tennis courts.

Since 1987, the US Open is the fourth and final tennis major of the Grand Slam each year; the other three are the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon. It is held annually in August and September over a two-week period at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center (which includes the magnificent Arthur Ashe Stadium) in Queens.

This year the US Open runs August 27th – September 9th, 2012.

Interesting US Open Facts:

– 2011 Men’s champion was Novak Djokovic and runner up was Rafael Nadal. In 2010, Nadal won and Djokovic was the runner up.

– The youngest Singles winner was Tracy Austin, who was 16 years old when she won in 1979.

– Westin Hotels & Resorts (part of the Starwood family) is the official Hotels partner of the US Open.
