Europe InterContinental Hotels Summer 2012 extended stay discounts

25 InterContinental Hotels in Europe have a summer rate discount for extended stays of 5 to 7 nights offering at least 20% off Flexible Daily Rates (BAR). These rate discounts are for stays from July 15 to September 22, 2012. These rates must be booked at least 7 days prior to arrival.

1-night nonrefundable deposit is required at time of booking.

I checked only two hotels out of the 25 InterContinental Hotels to try and determine the rate savings with this offer.

20% off the BAR rate is typically more than AAA savings, although AAA savings do not apply for many hotels in Europe. The main thing to check is for hotel special offers at individual hotels for a free night on an extended stay or other discount rates that might be more than 20% off.

A 7-night stay means the hotel stay runs through a weekend. Most of the InterContinental Hotels will tend to have lower weekend rates than weekday rates, except for some resort properties where the rates might be higher on weekends.

My main point is you should check the hotel for lower rates than this summer special to determine if this is the best deal for your hotel stay.

InterContinental Prague

The InterContinental Prague has rates as low as €95.20 EUR for a 5-night stay Friday July 20 to Wednesday July 25. This is $121 USD per night or $605 for a 5-night stay.

The rate rises to €119 EUR ($151 USD) if I shorten the stay dates to 4 nights. The hotel stay is the same price for a 4-night stay compared to a 5-night stay with the discount rate.

Basically the InterContinental Hotels Summer Stay More, Pay Less offer is a 20% discount and similar to a 5th night free rate at the InterContinental Prague hotel.

$121 for a luxury hotel in Prague this summer looks like a great deal to me. I paid over $200 per night to stay in Prague in February 2007. Although my room did have a grand piano in the Hradcany Suite at Residence Nosticova and we had daily breakfast included for that $200 per night.
