Live at Aloft Hotels Summer Concert Series

For about 15 years Dar Williams has been on my bucket list of musicians I would like to hear play live. Thursday night, June 14, Dar Williams will perform a free show at the Aloft Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina.

Here is a link to some videos of Dar Williams performing a few of her songs. My wife often says acoustic music is not the stuff you want to listen to while driving in the car, but for a small venue show, Dar Williams plays the kind of music I would love to hear while hanging out in an Aloft Hotel lobby.

“As Cool as I Am” was an anthem for my friends and I in grad school. I love, love Dar Williams.

You would probably hate me Ric, if I said I not only had front row seats to a Dar Williams concert about 5-6 years ago, but I got to interview her plus hear her pre-show sound check (she is very down to earth BTW).

    PS: Teenagers kick our butts…

Looking over her bio I realize I could have probably been hanging out at coffeeshops with Dar Williams in Northhampton, Mass. during grad school when I was studying at UMass Amherst.

“Tonight we’re gonna be the party
We will party all night long
    We are the party generation
So have a seat, what’s in the bag?
    Party on.”

    Party generation – Dar Williams

I have seen loads of useful points on your web page about desktops. However, I’ve the viewpoint that laptop computers are still more or less not powerful enough to be a good selection if you normally do jobs that require a great deal of power, for instance video modifying. But for website surfing, microsoft word processing, and most other popular computer functions they are perfectly, provided you may not mind the screen size. Thanks for sharing your notions.
