Hilton HHonors earn 5,000 points for Visa, texts and hotel stay

Hilton HHonors members can earn 1,000 points for registering a mobile phone number and VISA card. This reminds me of the type of promotions Hilton HHonors used to have a decade ago when members could earn 500 points each quarter just for updating your email address. HHonors wants direct access to its members and is willing to pay points for your current contact information.

You need to register your mobile phone number and Visa card number between January 20 and June 30, 2012. You can register up to three Visa cards.

  • Earn 1,000 HHonors bonus points for registering your phone and Visa card.
  • Earn 4,000 HHonors bonus points with a stay at a Hilton brand hotel in the USA and using your registered Visa card for at least $100 in hotel spend for your room stay. [Note Update: comment to this post says the hotel spend must be by June 30, 2012].
  • * Not all Visa cards are eligible for this Program. Without limitation, Visa Buxx, Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Visa cards, EBT Visa cards and other Visa-branded cards whose transactions are not processed through the Visa U.S.A. payment system are not eligible to participate.

By registering you agree to receive up to two mobile text messages weekly. You can opt out of the program at anytime.

    After enrolling, they send a message saying that your hotel spend must be by June 30, 2012.

    does this mean, 4k for each visa? or can you only get the 4k bonus once?

    my understanding u only get it once. They allow you to register up to 3 cards so that you can decide at check in which card you wish to use. We stayed at a Hilton in Austin last weekend and at the end of my phone conservation the day prior, they asked if i had time to listen to a sales pitch and receive 500 points. I took advantage of it and polietly declined the Las Vegas or Orlando etc offers, but took the 500 points. Made another reservation today and they made the same offer tho i found out you can only get the 500 points once every 6 months.

    Does the 100 dollar figure include tax or just the base rate?

    @Mike – I do not know that fine detail, but I would think the amount includes tax since Visa is going to see a total amount for the room charge and not the tax breakdown.
