Watching waves at Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel

Dana Point is a beach town in Orange County, California offering travelers luxury hotels, fine dining, golf and surfing in a southern California climate. Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel sits atop the bluff overlooking Monarch Beach.

Watching hundreds of surfers and California brown pelicans cruise the waves below the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel is timeless enjoyment. I’ll post more about Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel and St. Regis Monarch Beach this next week.

I wondered if there were more surfers or pelicans on the water. Amazingly I am pretty sure the pelicans outnumbered the hundred or more surfers by a fair margin. And while I saw some good wave rides by surfers, the pelicans typically glide just a few feet over the water with unmatchable grace.

The beaches of Orange County are a beautiful place to see – especially when viewing from the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel.

    That’s probably my favorite hotel in the US. The food wonderful, the staff is polished and welcoming, and the views are incredible.

    If you’re still there and the macaroni and chess with truffles shows up on the chef’s menu, give it a try. It’s amazing.

    Also, there is a huge, two story, pink stucco house just immediately to the north of the property. It sits on top of the cliff, overlooking he water. It belongs to televangelist Benny Hinn.
