Marriott International posted 2010 Q-4 room rate increases of 2.3%, however, there was a decline in room rates overall for the full year 2010 compared to 2009.Â
- Autograph Collection launched in 2010 to brand 13 independent hotels in the U.S. with Marriott.
- Edition Waikiki opened as the first property in a new Marriott luxury brand.
- AC Hotels, a Spanish hotel group will be a new Marriott brand in 2011 and add 90 hotels in Spain, Portugal and Italy.
- Marriott had net growth of 125 hotels in 2010 with the majority being U.S. hotels in Fairfield Inn (28), Courtyard (27) and SpringHill Suites (18).
