Contests and Sweepstakes Hotel Loyalty 2011 Q1 promotions IHG One Rewards InterContinental Hotels Group

Priority Club ‘Win it in a Minute’ Daily Trivia Contest for Points

Priority Club launched a new promotion today – Win it in a Minute. Each weekday for the next 12 weeks offers Priority Club members the chance to answer 5 questions for points. This is a timed trivia contest providing 12 seconds to answer each question. The quicker you answer correctly, the more points you win for the correct answer.

  • Top 50 scores each weekday win 5,000 Priority Club points.
  • Top 100 cumulative scores each week win 15,000 Priority Club points.

I answered the first question incorrectly, but I picked the answers to the next four questions correctly.

Speed matters.

The questions were geographic questions, but not hotel-related.

My score was the third highest of the day today, even with missing one question entirely. The day is still young and I will surely drop in the rankings. But maybe I will hold on to a top 50 finish.

Now I just have to remember to return each weekday and play ‘Win it in a Minute’ to build up my weekly cumulative score.

15,000 points can be redeemed for a free night at more than 1,500 Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Candlewood Suites hotels globally. Link to Priority Club reward night chart.

Trivia brainiacs can potentially earn 120,000 points for just about 15 minutes of your time each week over the next few months. There are weekly and monthly winner limits of one 5,000 points daily prize per contest week and one weekly prize of 15,000 points per calendar month. Priority Club ‘Win it in a Minute’ official contest rules.

  • 15,000 points x 4 calendar months (Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr) in Top 100 points total = 60,000 points.
  • 5,000 points x 12 daily prizes (limit of one 5,000 points prize per week) = 60,000 points.

All that seemingly useless trivia sloshing around your head might reward you three or four free nights at an InterContinental Hotel this summer.

‘Win it in a Minute’ continues Priority Club’s string of clever loyalty promotions.

What were the questions? …. and do you know if they are they different for each participant?

  • Josh January 24, 2011

Actually you can’t win 480,000. The terms limit you to winning only one daily prize each week and one weekly prize each month.

Still, I’ll take it. Thanks for letting me know!

  • Tom January 24, 2011

Questions are indeed different each time you play. I tried with both my and my wife’s account… different questions. So no point in cheating 😉

  • Ric Garrido January 24, 2011

Josh – You are correct and I will edit this post.

I missed the prize winning restriction terms in the rules.

  • Ric Garrido January 24, 2011

Chris G – Revealing questions and answers in social media forums violates terms of promotion and may disqualify game participant.

  • Ed January 24, 2011

Rick, BTW, the pointsavers list is out.

  • Ric Garrido January 24, 2011

Thanks Ed. That will allow some impatient travelers to sleep better tonight.

Just checked and I am currently #50 on today’s trivia. Looks like I am still in the running for tomorrow’s daily prize.

  • Oliver January 24, 2011

I think this is a very nice follow-up game to the previous one (Anywhere Challenge) where the braintrust of FT collaborated on finding the right answers based on the clues given.

My wife and I both got completely different questions. We’re still in the running for the top-50 for today, but it’s not looking good. Will have to think and click faster tomorrow. But maybe I can make via consistency and get the weekly price 🙂

  • Michael January 24, 2011

Kinda fun. I’ve got four accounts in my family. I got better on each one.

The hardest part is just mousing.

  • Ric Garrido January 27, 2011

I pride myself on my geography acumen, but this Win it in a Minute is kicking my ass.

I forgot to play on Tuesday. Wednesday I scored 1 in 5 correct and my correct answer was a San Francisco question. Today I am 3 of 5. Looks like I won’t make Top 100 this week.

  • Jonathan February 5, 2011

I randomly guessed, got 3 of 5 right, each for over 10,000. I saw the top 50, I can’t imagine people take time to read the question and evaluate the answers and end up with 48k points.

  • Rock February 9, 2011

I played the first time today. I immediately knew four out of the first five, clicked as quick as i could, but jeez- got only 6000 each time. Now, I am a quick reader, and fast on the computer. I ended up with 24,000 pts. How the heck do u get 12,000 per question? the clock starts immediately!! Any Hints??

  • Ric Garrido February 9, 2011

I have no idea how people are answering so quickly.

I actually have lost interest in the game since I am truly uncompetitive even when I know the answers and I see little chance of being a daily or weekly score “Winner”.

  • Nick February 9, 2011

My guess is they are registering for many accounts and then just doing the same clicks as quickly as possible for each account. I reached 42k points one day and that didn’t even crack the top 100.

  • Chris February 14, 2011

Agreed with the quick responses. I read as fast possible, which was pretty damn fast, and answered every question right easily within 1.5 to 2 seconds and still barely cracked 40,000 points and am currently 119 for the day. How in the h-e-double hockey sticks someone is getting 55,000 points plus is beyond me.

  • Charita February 17, 2011

Evenif you are not a top winner, do you get to keep the points? And if so, when do they show up?

  • Ric Garrido February 17, 2011

Charita – You need to be in the top 50 members with the highest trivia points score during the day to earn 5,000 Priority Club points.

The comment by Chris is referring to the number of quiz points earned from answering the five daily questions. The maximum quiz points a person can earn is 60,000 points. To get 55,000 quiz points means the correct answer is being chosen in less than a second.

I can’t read that fast and I stopped playing the game since my fastest read and answer click earned fewer than 9,000 points.

Chris and others are questioning how someone can possibly read a question and select the correct answer in less than a second.

    Humanly possible? Perhaps.

But certainly not within my ability.

Thanks for another informative site. Where else could I get that kind of information written in such an ideal way? I have a project that I am just now working on, and I’ve been on the look out for such info.
