A possible terrorist bombing rocks Moscow’s largest airport Domodedovo (DME) Monday, January 24 at 4:32pm Moscow time (8:32am New York time) reportedly killing more than 30 persons and injuring more than 130 others. The blast occurred in the Arrivals Hall.
Russian President Dmitri A. Medvedev stated on TV the attack is believed to be a terrorist bombing.
Domodedovo Airport is Russia’s primary airline carrier hub with more than 20 million passengers a year.
United Airlines operates daily Washington, D.C. – Moscow (Domodedovo) route.
Delta and Aeroflot use Sheremetyevo International Airport (SVO), one of three Moscow airports for international flights.
