Promotion entry deadline: Rebate form must be postmarked by January 31, 2012.

$100 Hotel Stay Rebate is in form of Visa prepaid card. One rebate per household.

Loyalty Traveler analysis:

The promotion terms state the offer requires a qualifying rate. In most programs any rate published on the hotel website is a qualifying rate. Certainly AAA and senior rates should apply as eligible qualifying rates.

$100 rebate on a $300 per night InterContinental in Europe or New York might cover one hotel meal, but a $100 rebate on a $300 3-night stay is a decent value for a newlywed getaway.  And Priority Club will also rebate $100 in airline baggage fees with a weekend hotel stay.

IHG is reaching out to the long tail of customer market segments in a creative promotional way through offers like Sweetheart Deal and Check It Free 2 and Crack the Case.

Offer is open to residents of U.S. and Canada (different rebate forms).

On a personal note:

Congratulations to all the newlyweds who qualify for this offer.

I am happily married and celebrating my 22nd wedding anniversary January 19, 2011.

Kelley and I flew to London for our honeymoon in 1989 about 75 days after our wedding day. We stayed at the St. James Court near Buckingham Palace. That same hotel is now an IHG property, Crowne Plaza London St. James.

I was a loyalty traveler even back in 1989. I booked a Pan Am promotional offer for two free tickets anywhere in North America with the purchase of two $400 roundtrip tickets San Francisco to London. We stayed at the London St. James Court Hotel for a week using an Entertainment discount 50% rate, then on to Edinburgh and stayed a week at another 50% discount hotel.

U.S. Virgin Islands was our second honeymoon trip on the freebie Pan Am tickets.
