Conventional thinking would be 50% off the 3^rd night should be an overall discount a bit over 16% on the room rate (half of 33.33% = 16.66%). My samples indicate a 7% discount on AAA rates.

AAA rate = $321 room rate at $107 per night.

Cancellation policies are the same for both rates at 4pm Day of Arrival.

Total Savings = $23.50 or 7.3% savings on AAA rate for this three night stay. 

Hyatt Place Downtown Atlanta, Georgia

3-night stay: Monday, December 13 – Thursday, December 16, 2010

HOLID3 Rate = $347.50 (after discount at check-out); $417 before discount at $139 per night.

AAA rate = $375 room rate at $125 per night.

Cancellation policies: 3pm 24 hours before arrival for both rates.

Total Savings = $27.50 or 7.3% savings on AAA rate for this three night stay.

This 50% off 3^rd night special rate offer is a good deal if you need a three night stay between now and January 17, 2011 and the Hyatt Place rates are comparable to competitors. This rate is an overall discount, and an extra 7% savings on hotel rates comes with liberal cancellation policies.

I assume it is the hotel location since every Hyatt Place is nearly identical in design and layout of lobby, facilities and rooms.
