Hyatt Workers Strike Across North America

Labor Day weekend seems an appropriate time to have a Hyatt employee strike. The business meeting crowds will not be in the hotels. Leisure guests are most likely to suffer this weekend at Hyatt Hotels in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Honolulu, Chicago, Toronto and other cities.

What are the issues?

  • No union contract to start.
  • Increased cost for decreasing health benefits.
  • Understaffing.

These are the same issues confronting workers in my wife’s school district this year.

Keep up the struggle hotel workers.

Unfortunately I do not see change coming soon.

This is America. Land of the free – and historically a poor working class mass.

Happy Labor Day 2010.
