IHG Rewards Club has a buy points flash sale Dec 20 and Dec 21 with potentially up to 100% bonus points. Shelli at Travel with Grant received a 100% bonus offer. My offer is 80% bonus when buying 15,000 points or more.
My offer requires $187.50 in spend for 27,000 points for a $6.95 purchase rate. The best rate requires a 26,000 points purchase at $299 for 46,800 points = $6.39 per 1,000 points.
A 100% bonus drops the rate to $5.75 per 1,000 points.

I use the opportunity of Points & Cash reward rate discount promotions to buy points when I need them. In 2017, it was possible to buy IHG points for $4.60 per 1,000 points.
