This week targeted IHG Club Rewards members are receiving an email offering 20% off the cash portion of Points&Cash reward nights for stays worldwide to Sep 30, 2017.
I am Platinum elite due to IHG Rewards Club MasterCard. I received the offer yesterday, three days after first reading about the offer on FlyerTalk.
There is no registration code. IHG 20% discount on Points & Cash rewards shows up automatically for my account when I search hotel stay dates to Sep 30.
T&C state offer is targeted to top-level Spire elite members of IHG Rewards Club. Other IHG Platinum credit card members report receiving this offer. Not clear how widespread this offer is among IHG members.T&C also state offer valid for stays from July31 – Sep 30, 2017. Yet, no one on FlyerTalk has mentioned seeing this offer before August 21.

Holiday Inn Cannes has extraordinarily high cash portion regular rates of $50 for 5,000 points and $80 for 10,000 points. 20% discount on inflated cash portion for IHG Points & Cash rates makes Holiday Inn Cannes a lousy hotel for a P&C reward redemption.
You are better off simply booking Standard rate reward nights at 20,000 points.
IHG Rewards Club Points & Cash $4.60/1,000 points is lowest rate I found with 20% discount.

60,000 points for $276 USD buys 3 reward nights at Holiday Inn Cannes for $91.50 USD per night. That is a substantial 48% discount on 150 EUR / $177 USD nightly rates for Holiday Inn Cannes.
This strategy for cheaper IHG Rewards Club points purchase is not something I need to use at the present time.
I need a Points & Cash stay and one paid night by Dec 31 to earn 30,000 bonus points with my current IHG Rewards Club Accelerate offer tasks.Â
