The Wilshire Grand Tower in the Downtown Los Angeles Financial District opened this week and at 1,100 feet in height is the new tallest building west of the Mississippi.

InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown occupies the 31st to 68th floors of the 73 story building to be the tallest hotel in the west.

InterContinental Los Angeles is open with 889 guest rooms. Sky Deck Bar & Lounge is on the 73rd floor.

The second article states the hotel has a sky-lobby and observation deck on the 70th floor.

Different articles show different floor numbers. There should be a clearer picture of InterContinental Los Angeles when all the grand opening articles hit the press next week.

IHG website hotel page offers some additional details, but truly very little insight into the hotel.  LA is a place where one would expect to find a vibrant media presentation for the public on the new hotel’s website. Not yet.
