Loving my IHG Accelerate summer 2017 offer

IHG Rewards Club Accelerate summer 2017 member targeted offers are available for registration for stays May 15 – August 31, 2017.

Since the first IHG Accelerate  promotion in the final months of 2014, I find that I get a good offer I want to earn about every other promotion. Most of my offers have been achieved with two or three paid hotel nights.

This new summer promotion is my best value IHG Rewards Club Accelerate deal yet.

1a. Stay in June = 3,000 bonus points

1b. Stay once = 2,500 bonus points

2. Stay in any country outside Americas = 8,000 bonus points

3. Spend on IHG Rewards Club credit card = 1,500 bonus points.

4. Stay 5 nights = 10,000 bonus points.

Complete 3 tasks Achievement Bonus = 18,000 points.

I can earn 33,000 bonus points on a one night stay in Europe in June.

IHG Accelerate summer 2017 tasks 43K

IHG Rewards Club Accelerate fits perfectly in my plans. Two days ago, before knowing about this deal, I calculated I would stay in London on a $100 IHG hotel night in July 2017.

I am looking to book a June 2017 airline ticket Stockholm to San Jose, California to return from Europe in June that includes a 20 hours noon to next morning overnight in Helsinki transit layover on the flight home.

I can earn 33,000 IHG bonus points on a $76 hotel night in downtown Helsinki, Finland in June.

One night in Helsinki, Finland in June at an IHG hotel, paid using my IHG MasterCard earns 33,000 bonus points with my 2017 summer Accelerate offer.

How cool is that?

Helsinki, Finland seems like quite a bargain for hotel rates compared to average hotel room prices in Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm.

I redeemed 20,000 points three days ago for IHG Rewards Club Point Breaks reward nights with a value of $500 for July 2017 travel in Europe. IHG is saving me quite a bit of money again in 2017 for my hotel travel needs.

Any idea what I should do in this dilemma.

One of my tasks to complete is to buy points. I already bought points this year with the 100% bonus and maxed out. Why would they offer me a task I can’t complete? I can finish 4 other tasks but the 5th would take additional cash OOP (Still would be worth it but I’d prefer to finish with stays I’ve already planned). Can I complain to anyone?

@Joeheg – Send IHG an email about the buy points task. They might credit you for task completion or give you an alternative task.

    Does not hurt to try.

Silly question, where does one get a email for IHG? I looked at the website and all I could see was a phone or live chat. I did a chat session where I was told, essentially, that I was correct and I couldn’t buy any more points but that is because of the limit that points.com sets and there is nothing they can do about it. I’d like to at least send an email to see what they’d say back. Thanks!!!!
