Club Carlson 4-for-2 and 2-for-1 weekend rates

The main value I get from being a Club Carlson Visa card holder is Gold elite status. The main value I find with Club Carlson Gold elite status is the ability to book 2-for-1 and 4-for-2 weekend rates at hotels in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Currently, I have 12 nights at three Radisson Blu highly ranked hotels on TripAdvisor booked for stays over the next ten months in Germany, Latvia and Poland using 4-for-2 discount rates. This single discount rate opportunity knocks over $1,000 off the prevailing hotel rates for my planned travel in these places.

Iceland Weekend Getaway

Bloggers love to advertise those $99 WOW fares to Iceland, although it is almost always 50% more to get the return one-way ticket back to the USA. I know from experience that a cheap ticket to Iceland is not the major expense of a trip to Iceland. Unless you are camping, lodging is where you lay out the real cash on a trip to Iceland.

Club Carlson 2-for-1 and 4-for-2 rates can save on the spend.

Radisson Blu Saga Hotel Reykjavik, Iceland

$104.62 per night Thu Feb 2 – Sun Feb 6

Club Carlson 4-for-2 Reykjavik Hotel Saga

One thing to know about these 2-for-1 and 4-for-2 rates is they are based on best available rate and offer flexible cancellation terms. This also means there are likely lower advance purchase rates available on a per night basis, so the real discount is less than 50% of the lowest available rate.

Rad Blu Saga Reykjavik 4-night NR rate

Radisson Blu Hotel Saga has a prepaid nonrefundable rate of $167.39 per night.

Advance Purchase rate = $669.56 Feb 2-6 (nonrefundable)

Club Carlson 4-for-2 rate = $418.48 Feb 2-6 (no penalty if cancelled by 6pm Feb 2)

Save more than $250 on the Radisson Blu Saga Hotel, Reykjavik with flexible cancellation 4-for-2 Club Carlson Gold elite rate.

Another thing to keep in mind with these rates is you pay the prevailing rate for the first night (Thursday or Friday) or first two nights (Wed/Thu or Thu/Fri) and the other night(s) are free. Since the rates are not averaged, this means there are often different rates when booking a 2-for-1 with arrival on Thursday or arrival on Friday and different rates on a 4-for-2 when arriving on Wednesday or arriving on Thursday. Sometimes the rate difference is significant and it is a good idea to check rates for both date of arrivals, if you have flexible travel dates.

Club Carlson 2-for-1 rate at Radisson Blu 1919 Hotel Reykjavik

$167.73 per night Fri March 3 – Sun March 5

Club Carlson 2-for-1 Rad 1919 Reyklavik

$335.46 for two nights at Radisson Blu 1919 in Iceland with 2-for-1 rate.

The lowest available rate for a non-elite Club Carlson member is the advance purchase rate at $254.95 per night for $505.90 total for two night weekend.

Rad Blu 1919 rate mar3-5 $255

Club Carlson 2-for-1 rate reduce the cost of this hotel by more than one-third the otherwise lowest rate.

As I said at the beginning of this post, the value I find with Club Carlson Visa is not the points I earn from Club Carlson hotel stays when paying with my credit card. The primary value I get from Club Carlson Visa is complimentary Gold elite for access to Club Carlson 2-for-1 and 4-for-2 discount rates. These Club Carlson elite member discount rates reduce my hotel spend significantly and often provide the best value hotel rates for many places I travel in Europe.

  1. Thanks to your blog, I’ve already used this perk once, at the Madrid Radisson Blu, and always consider Club Carlson hotels when planning trips in Europe.
