Turkish Airlines has had some of the lowest regular fares starting at $547 round trip from Boston, Washington and Chicago to many cities in Europe like Amsterdam, Athens, Barcelona, Frankfurt, London, Paris and Rome for departures from September to April 15, 2017. Turkish Airlines has had a rough summer as the terrorist attack at Istanbul Airport IST and the July coup hampers the airline’s passenger loads. To compound the issue is the need for an overnight transit layover in Istanbul on many flight itineraries to and from the USA and European airports.
On top of the Istanbul issue is the difficulty of easily searching Turkish Airlines fares quickly through Google Flights. Most Turkish Airlines fares will not automatically display on Google Flights. ITA Matrix is better, but still not highly accurate. I’ll show what I mean about Google Flights and ITA Matrix in this post.
Still, some good Turkish Airlines low fares from several cities are available for the intrepid traveler who does not find flying to Europe via Istanbul, Turkey a daunting travel plan.

Most of the low fare deals in the $500s are only from Boston, Chicago, New York and Washington. I have included a far from exhaustive list of sample fares from Chicago and only a few from some other airports to show similar fares available from Boston, Chicago, New York and Washington.

Google Flights and ITA Matrix Searches for Turkish Airlines
One of the reasons I rarely post Turkish Airlines fares is the difficulty of quickly locating deals. There are deals I come across all the time with TK, but systematically determining fares over a date range is problematic with Google Flights and ITA Matrix.

Turkish Airlines is not even listed, despite being a Star Alliance member airline.
Change the display filter for Turksih Airlines only and this screen pops up on Google Flights.
The links are there for the flights, but you must go to Turkish Airlines website to see ticket price.

ITA Matrix offers a fare calendar, but it is not quite accurate compared to ticket prices found on Turkish website.
Filter flights on ITA using ‘advanced routing codes’ and enter TK+ to limit search to Turkish Airlines.
I found the October calendar showed most dates with higher prices than are actually listed on TK website.
ITA Matrix fare calendar March 2017 offers a more accurate picture of TK fares IAD to Paris.
ITA Matrix shows many dates with $551 fare. March 9 has $900 fare showing on this calendar as the highest fare in March for a 7 night trip March 9-16.
However, I plug in those dates on Google Flights and go to Turkish Airlines website to find the same $550.00 round trip price for March 9-16.
