fare war Stockholm ARN Stockholm Sweden

Fare War DL/UA $641-$699 LAX/SFO/SJC/SNA to Stockholm, Copenhagen and Oslo early August fares

Today has offered some great deals to Sweden from New York with round trip fares around $300 to $400 with AA, DL and UA. Now the fare war has spread to California airports with Delta fares from Los Angeles to Stockholm as low as $641 round trip for August departures. Iberia Airlines has fares at $676 round trip for early August travel LAX to Gothenburg, Sweden. San Jose and Santa Ana/Orange County have fares in $600s to Scandinavia in August.

Basically there are all kinds of deals from LAX, SFO and other California airports to Stockholm, Gothenburg, Oslo and Copenhagen today with all the alliance airlines. This is a fluid situation that you may want to check out if these fares interest you. I am headed to an evening dinner party (free beer!!!) in Stockholm, Sweden in 30 minutes (it is 10am Pacific time as I write this post), so this will be a brief post on the California-Scandinavia deals with no follow up for many hours.

Delta Airlines Los Angeles LAX – Stockholm, Sweden ARN

$641.16  Tue Aug 16 – Tue Aug 23

LAX-ARN $641 DL Aug 16-23

Iberia Airlines Los Angeles LAX – Gothenburg, Sweden GOT

$675.75  Wed Aug 17 – Sun Aug 28

LAX-GOT $677 IB Aug17-28

United Airlines San Francisco SFO – Oslo, Norway OSL

$677.26  Tue Aug 9 – Tue Aug 16

SFO-OSL $677 UA Aug9-16

Delta Los Angeles LAX – Copenhagen, Denmark CPH

$692.46  Wed Aug 10 – Wed Aug 17

LAX-CPH $692 DL Aug

I have also found deals from San Jose SJC and Santa Ana/Orange County SNA. The deals in August are hard to beat. Since New York has some very low fares in the $300s, you might find a cheaper ticket for fall travel into December flying to New York separately, then to Scandinavia. This deal seems to be spreading, but the thought of missing out on free beer in Stockholm has me running off to be engaged in other activities besides airfare searches.

Hey, I am already in Sweden and loving it right now. Even my wife confirms the observation – there sure are a lot of blondes around these parts.

My recollection of PripsIII in Stockholm was that it was anything but “free”. But these fares are quite irresistible.

@Steve – There were earlier in the day. These kinds of deep discount airline tickets often last only 4 to 8 hours before prices rise again.

@David B. – Had a Pripps yesterday in Stockholm. System Bolaget, the state liquor store, only about 200 meters from Radisson Blu Waterfront for real beer 5.0% at about same price as 2.2 – 3.5% ABV beer in markets around town.

    Purchased six different Swedish beers.

Cheapest was Sofiero 9.90 SEK = $1.17 USD for 330 ml bottle 5.2% ABV..
    Pripps 10.90 SEK = $1.29 USD 330ml bottle 5% ABV.
Most expensive Mariestads Old Ox 18.60 SEK = $2.19 USD 500ml, 6.9% ABV.

There were other beers as much as 25-30 SEK.

Good news for me is my wife liked Sofiero.

Restaurant and bar prices appear to be about 59 to 79 SEK = $6.94 to $9.30 per bottle/glass.
