Low July fares to Lisbon and Oporto OPO, Portugal are available with American Airlines at $707 to $709 round trip for flights from Boston or New York JFK. These July tickets are about $520 base fares earning around 8,300 redeemable miles for AAdvantage elite members before the August 1 change to revenue earning for redeemable miles or around 7,500 AAdvantage miles for non-elites. Same AA tickets from August 1 on will earn only 2,600 miles on this fare for non-elites.
Prices drop to as low as $615 for departures from late August through October.
Iberia will fly you Boston to Oporto, Portugal in July for $632 round trip, which is a great price for a ticket to Europe in July, but the best AA ticket I found only includes one codeshare flight segment for BOS-MAD outbound and other flights are Iberia flight numbers earning only 25% redeemable miles and 50% EQM.
New York JFK – Oporto is $707.36 round trip with AA operated flights both ways across the Atlantic JFK-MAD-JFK and MAD-OPO Iberia coded flights These tickets in July earn over 7,300 redeemable AAdvantage miles compared to fewer than 3,000 miles for non-elite members from August 1 onward for $615 round trip ticket.
