Park Hyatt Mallorca opens as category 5 resort. 20,000 points or $700? No brainer.

Park Hyatt Mallorca, Spain opened this week on the more secluded northeast coast of the island, far removed from the Magaluf party crowd. The resort hotel is the first Park Hyatt Resort in Europe. There are four other Park Hyatt Resorts worldwide with Maldives and Goa Indian Ocean resorts, and two in the USA at Carlsbad, California and Beaver Creek, Colorado. The resort is designed to look like a traditional Mallorquin village with its 142 guest rooms including 16 suites.

The hotel is not on the coast, however, a private beach club is five minutes by car. There are two heated pools at the resort for adults and a children’s splash pool.

The standard room is about 538 sq. ft., which is about average for a luxury hotel room and twice the average size of a standard hotel room.

The Park Hyatt resort is the centerpiece of Cap Vermill in the Canyamel Valley, a newly built luxury resort and residence development, one hour drive northeast from Palma PMI airport on the opposite side of Mallorca. The country club is scheduled to open in July 2016 and there are several golf courses in the area.
