One of the best opportunities in this battle over Miami between American/Iberia and United/Swiss/Lufthansa are fares down to $593 for flights from Miami to Barcelona or Madrid and low $600s to dozens of other airports on the Iberian Peninsula with Portugal and Spain and a number of Mediterranean islands.
In another example of the widespread fare war between American, Delta and United on Europe routes since yesterday, United and Star Alliance airlines have dropped fares from Miami to the $600s for round trip tickets to many airports around Europe. American is competing most heavily in the Iberian Peninsula routes with their partner airline Iberia.
Departure dates with lowest fares are from November 2016 to March 2017 with most of December holiday season dates blocked out.

This day was good luck for many flyers as the most extensive fare war of 2016 from across USA to Europe launched between American, Delta and United.
Delta priced round trip tickets from Washington IAD to Dublin at $317 and $375 to Moscow early Friday. San Francisco was $376 to Dublin and $492 to Istanbul.
United dropped fares for travel to Europe from most Delta hubs, then Delta expanded its sale in United hubs. About 10 hours later American Airlines joined in.
Dozens of cities across Europe were lowered to $600s round trip from dozens of USA airports on Friday the 13th, including small regional airports like my home base at Monterey MRY with round trip tickets to London at $710 on both United or American. Departure dates for these low fares are from November 2016 to March 2017 with dozens of dates available. This is the most extensive fare war I have seen for USA-Europe in the past year of watching fares.
