Alaska Airlines partner Hainan Air has a very low fare to several airports in China, if you can travel this week. The airfare is a staggeringly low $474 round trip if you can leave as early as tomorrow. Hainan flies nonstop to Beijing PEK out of San Jose SJC, California’s under-utilized international airport terminal. There is currently a $509 round trip fare more widely available in May with Hainan flying San Jose to Shanghai and several other airports around China for other dates in May.
Airfare to Beijing as a destination is more expensive and drops to $559 round trip with Hainan beginning August 2016.

You will want to check fare codes for Hainan flights and look for U restricted economy to earn 50% Alaska Mileage Plan miles. One itinerary I checked had Economy E outbound and U inbound. Economy E code does not earn miles with Alaska. Air Berlin, Etihad and Hainan all earn 50% flight miles in both E and U class.
