American Airlines has a great fare from Los Angeles to Santiago, Chile SCL at $643 for many dates in March and April. Santiago was a route noticeably not discounted for most of the past year. In the past week there have been fares in the low $600s to MVD Montevideo, Uruguay too. Buenos Aires is still the one major holdout for low fares to deep South America.
