The big shock today is learning 18 hotels will rise to new high categories of 55,000 and 60,000 points on Feb 17, 2016. They are all InterContinental Hotels. There are also another 182 hotels increasing in points cost. This post breaks down the list of hotels by category level.
Since 400 hotels are changing in reward price on Feb 17, 2016, that means 200 hotels are going down in reward cost. Think China, India and oil revenue economies as places where hotels will drop in reward rates for 2016.
This is a graphic intensive post with images from my spreadsheet, so I’ll list the hotels going down in a separate post.
