IHG Rewards Club is the most valuable hotel loyalty program in my travels this past year. IHG promotions have put me into InterContinental Boston, InterContinental London Park Lane and InterContinental Paris Le Grand this past year for free. Next month I’ll be into InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam with the IHG credit card anniversary night. I had extended stays at Holiday Inn hotels in France and Czech Republic on PointBreaks award nights and booked several Points and Cash stays at Holiday Inn hotels around London. I even had a couple of paid stays at IHG hotels in 2015.
Club Carlson and Choice Privileges have been good deals for my travels too, but Club Carlson is fading since I last redeemed points in May 2015 for 18 nights in London, Amsterdam, Stockholm and Copenhagen hotels. I am currently out of Choice privileges points after 19 nights in 2015 at Nordic Choice Hotels in Denmark, Norway and Sweden on points. I could really use a six-figure Choice Privileges balance again for my 2016 travels when I return to Sweden this summer.
Missing IHG Accelerate 2015 Bonus Points
Speaking of six-figure balances, I would love to see my IHG Rewards Club account credited with the 38,000+ points I am due from the Fall 2015 Accelerate promotion.

Gone, but not forgotten
The last time I saw my 2015 Accelerate task board in late December, the page showed 2 of 3 offers completed. My account is sitting at 94,000 points after spending 85,000 points on four IHG Points & Cash stays in the past three months. Three IHG Points & Cash stays was one of my Accelerate tasks to earn 3,600 bonus points. My three P&C stays also completed three tasks to earn my ‘Mission Accomplished’ 33,100 bonus points.
I had four IHG Rewards Club Points & Cash stays during the promotion between October and December 2015. None of these stays ever posted to my fall Accelerate 2015 Task Board.
I made phone calls, I was told by an IHG representative not to worry about it. IHG has notoriously bad IT issues, as IHG Rewards Club members probably know.
Six weeks since my third IHG Points & Cash stay and I still have not received the points for this completed task. And now I can’t even view the 2015 Accelerate task board. The IHG Accelerate link only shows my new 2016 Accelerate task board.
I am not too worried in the long run since I am planning to check off more tasks for my current 2016 IHG Rewards Club Accelerate promotion with hotel stays in Amsterdam this month.
Two hotel nights at two different Holiday Inns in Amsterdam earns 21,900 bonus points with the IHG Accelerate January bonus offer 5,000 points, stay once task for 5,000 points, stay at two Holiday Inn hotels task for 9,600 points and pay with IHG credit card task for 2,300 points.
Then, I have until April 30 to either stay three more nights at IHG hotels or book one Points and Cash stay.
Based on my experience with 2015 Accelerate, I might pass on the IHG Points and Cash stay and book three paid nights to earn 27,700 bonus points more quickly.

IHG Rewards Club is not the only loyalty laggard in my travel world lately. Five weeks ago I was rebooked on American Airlines when I missed my flight connection from PHX to DCA. No miles posted for my re-booked flights, although I was given complimentary upgrades to first class on both flight segments PHX-DFW, DFW-DCA as an AAdvatage Executive Platinum member.
I filed a missing miles request last week.
