Wyndham Rewards plans more changes for the program in 2016 with hints that a new elite level program is in the works. The absence of a real elite status program has been the primary difference this past decade between Wyndham Rewards and other hotel loyalty programs.
Wyndham Rewards added a weak Gold Status elite level membership in 2013 for earning bonus points after 20 stays in a calendar year.
Loyalty Traveler – Wyndham Rewards adds weak Gold elite benefit (March 20, 2013).
The announcement on the Wyndham Rewards site indicates there may be an elite level program with tiered benefits for Wyndham Rewards frequent guest members coming in 2016 that will be more like other hotel loyalty programs.
In 2016, Wyndham Rewards will become even more rewarding, as we develop some exciting new benefits and perks. As those are taking shape, we want to let you know about some important changes regarding your current Gold Status Membership.
- Your Wyndham Rewards Gold Status Points:* You’ll only receive Gold Status Points you earn through December 31, 2015. You can still redeem your Gold Status Points earned in 2015 until their expiration date.
- Your Wyndham Rewards Qualified Nights: All of your 2015 qualified nights will count towards your new member status in 2016. We’ll be back in touch soon to tell you more about these new member status levels, including one first-of-its-kind perk we know you’ll love.

Wyndham Rewards Gets My Vote for Most Improved Loyalty Program 2015
Wyndham Rewards receives my Loyalty Traveler vote for most improved hotel loyalty program of 2015 for its changes and additions to the world’s largest hotel chain with Go Fast and Go Free reward nights.
Go Fast is Wyndham Rewards points and cash reward program. Go Fast reward nights require 3,000 Wyndham Rewards points and a copay from $25 to $95 per night. GoFast rewards are capacity controlled. There are some opportunities to get significant room rate savings and great value from 3,000 points.
Go Free made all 7,000+ Wyndham Rewards brand hotels worldwide available for 15,000 points per night. This change raised the price for a free night at thousands of hotels, however, the best hotels in the chain were lowered to 15,000 points. Top-tier Wyndham Hotels & Resorts dropped from 30,000 to 50,000 points per night to 15,000 points.
The value of hotel loyalty programs for points travelers is based on being able to selectively choose hotels to redeem points where the value of the free night gives high value to the redemption award using hotel points.
I look forward to seeing the new changes to Wyndham Rewards.
