Club Carlson Gold members have access to special 2-for-1 and 4-for-2 weekend rates. The deal for 2-for-1 rates is you need to stay at least one Friday or Saturday. This makes Thursday-Friday, Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday possible combinations for the 2-for-1 rate.
4-for-2 rates require arrival on either Wednesday or Thursday and you pay for the first two nights.
The way this rate offer breaks down is the member pays the rate for the first night on a 2-for-1 or first two nights on 4-for-2 and the last night or two are free nights.
This leaves open the potential for booking hotels where the paid nights are lower priced than the lowest rates for the free nights. This is what happened to me with a booking I made yesterday for Radisson Blu Uppsala, Sweden where I paid for Saturday night and Sunday night is free.
Radisson Blu Uppsala, Sweden
1,272 SEK = $150 USD Sunday night rate
Radisson Blu Uppsala, Sweden
Saturday and Sunday nights 2-for-1 rate (Sunday is free night)
1,190 SEK = $140 USD all-in for two night stay.
