The basic deal is American and Delta Airlines have Scandinavia priced from low $600s during Thanksgiving week holiday. San Francisco to Stockholm is as low as $628. Several airports in Scandinavia are priced from mid- to upper-$600s during the Thanksgiving week holiday from Friday, November 20 to Monday, November 30. Los Angeles has airfare in the low to mid-$600s too. These are the lowest prices to Europe from California by far for Thanksgiving in Scandinavia.
Flying back to the USA during the post-Thanksgiving weekend can either be a nightmare if there is bad weather screwing up flight arrivals and departures, smooth flying, or a potential nightmare you trade in for a later flight and several hundred dollars in flight credits due to accepting a voluntary denied boarding compensation for overcrowded flights on the busiest travel weekend of the year. And maybe even a free hotel room for your delay.

Now that I am American Airlines Executive Platinum my take on international airfare deals is skewed for itineraries with long layovers to take advantage of lounge privileges. Looks like most of the hotels in these major cities have few 2-for-1 and 4-for-2 offers during Thanksgiving week. Other dates offer far more availability.
