In addition to current Hilton HHonors and SPG bonus points offers to buy points, Club Carlson is selling points with 30% bonus points through October 15.
The normal purchase price is $7.00 per 1,000 points. Club Carlson’s limited time offer is 30% bonus points when purchasing 10,000 to 40,000 points at $7.00 rate.
Discount Rate = $5.39 per 1,000 Points
$70 = 13,000 points. Purchase rate = $5.39 per 1,000 points.
$280 = 52,000 points as the maximum allowable purchase per member account. Purchase rate = $5.39 per 1,000 points.
There are hotels where this purchase rate will save money to buy points.
Radisson Blu Lietuva, Vilnius, Lithuania 4-night stay
- €413.00 lowest rate
- 20,000 points + €247.80
- 20,000 points saves €165.
- 20,000 points cost $160 USD.
- 20,000 points saves $186 USD.
You can save $26 on the room rate, but you will not earn points for the stay. The savings is not sufficient value to be an incentive to buy points.
There are hotels where you will find redemption value over $6.00 per 1,000 points. I simply had trouble locating one in quick time.
Places like London, Paris and Scandinavia where I will be staying in hotels over the next couple of weeks are now filled with Club Carlson hotels priced at 70,000 points per night. There is no value buy there and besides, there is a 52,000 points maximum purchase limit per person.
