Marriott MegaBonus returns after summer vacation with new offers loaded for members. Registration is required by November 15. I registered for my double points offer today.
Here are four offers listed on FlyerTalk for this round of MegaBonus.
1. 2,000 bonus points on every paid stay, starting with your second stay, up to 20,000 bonus points.
2. 15,000 bonus points after 15 paid nights + 2,000 bonus points after each additional night, up to 35,000 bonus points.
3. 25,000 bonus points after 20 paid nights + 2,000 bonus points after each additional night, up to 45,000 bonus points.
4. Earn double points on every paid stay, starting with your second stay, up to 20,000 bonus points.
The advantage of double points over 2,000 points per stay is primarily for more spend. 2,000 bonus points per stay is equivalent to $200 in spend, or $400 for Residence Inn and TownePlace Suites stays. Double points is only better, if you spend more than those amounts per stay.
$2,000 in spend or 11 stays to earn 20,000 bonus points, while avoiding Residence Inn stays, is a high amount of spend for a casual guest. This offer is for the Marriott loyalist. I prefer 2,000 points per stay offer for my travel style.
This MegaBonus won’t attract more travel from me for a double points bonus (1,000 bonus points on a $100 hotel night), but it is some kind of bonus for those stays when I find a nice hotel rate discount and then get another 25% off a Marriott brand hotel through a successful Marriott Look No Further best rate guarantee.
