Disneyland Anaheim Choice Privileges Reward Nights
This week I will be at Disneyland Anaheim. I decided to check reward night options in Anaheim and I found some great value for Choice hotels in the vicinity of Disneyland.
Quality Inn & Suites Maingate = $139 or 16,000 points. After tax room rate = $163.80. Redemption value = $10.23 per 1,000 points.
Comfort Inn & Suites Anaheim = $139 or 20,000 points. After tax room rate = $163.80. Redemption value = $8.19 per 1,000 points.
Quality Inn & Suites Anaheim Resort = $124 or 12,000 points. After tax room rate = $145.08. Redemption value = $12.09 per 1,000 points.
Quality Inn & Suites Anaheim at the Park = $120 or 16,000 points. After tax room rate = $140.34. Redemption value = $8.77 per 1,000 points.
Clarion Hotel Anaheim Resort = $125 or 12,000 points. After tax room rate = $146.19. Redemption value = $12.18 per 1,000 points.
Quality Inn Placentia-Anaheim = $109 or 8,000 points. After tax room rate = $119.90. Redemption value = $14.98 per 1,000 points.

The Value of Choice Privileges Points Plus Cash Rewards
In 2015, Choice Privileges added the option of points plus cash rewards. You need at least 8,000 points in your account to book a Points Plus Cash reward night.
No points, no problem.
Choice Privileges members can buy points at the rate of $11.00 per 1,000 points, up to 50,000 points in a calendar year.
Buy Choice Privileges Points for $11 per 1,000 and then book Points Plus Cash reward nights, buying points for $7.50 per 1,000 points.

Buy 8,000 Choice Privileges points for $88.00. Points will post within 24 hours to your account.
Use your 8,000 points to book a Points Plus Cash reward night. A reservation at a higher points reward hotel is one that will allow you to buy more points at the rate of $7.50 per 1,000 points.
Comfort Inn & Suites Anaheim is 20,000 points per night.
With the 8,000 points bought for $88 through Choice Privileges, you can book the 20,000 points Comfort Inn for 8,000 points + $90.
Follow the math and you have now paid $178 for a room that only cost $163.80 to pay for in the rate comparisons above. What is up?

You will have 32,000 points after spending $268. Four nights at Quality Inn Anaheim Placentia, about 3 miles from Disneyland, are yours for 32,000 points. Your nightly rate is $67 per night all-in.
You might think an 8,000 points reward night hotel has to be ghetto. The Quality Inn Placentia-Anaheim received 4 of 5 circles on TripAdvisor.com and is ranked higher than Marriott Residence Inn and Best Western in Placentia.

Quality Inn Anaheim North 6,000 points per night.
A Choice hotel within three miles of Disneyland at the lowest reward level of 6,000 points per night in summer season blows my mind.
One of the things about Disneyland is the ticket price for a three day ticket ($235) compared to a five day ticket ($275) is negligible. The real cost is the hotel stay for the extra two nights.
Using the strategy given here, I have shown how you can go from no Choice Privileges points to 36,000 points in a couple of days buying 36,000 points for $298.
Unfortunately, the only reward nights available are for King bed with occupancy limit of two. This hotel reward stay does not work if you need two beds, but can be a good deal for a couple.
Quality Inn Anaheim North room rate is $694.60 after tax for published rate or 36,000 Choice Privileges points for six nights. You can buy 36,000 points for $298 and save nearly $400 on this hotel stay on a 5-day Disney parks trip.
