Hacker fare USA to Lima via Cancun-Lima $218 Copa ticket

Lima has been a hard ticket to find real discount fares on in the past two months. So, I was surprised to see on Google Flights an American Airlines-Copa flight at $446 for Miami to Lima via Cancun. American Airlines is Oneworld and Copa is Star Alliance.

After investigating a little more closely, this real deal hacker fare turns out to be a $218 Copa round trip fare between Cancun and Lima. American Airlines has some low fares to Cancun from around the USA. This provides an opportunity to buy a round trip ticket to Cancun and pick up the Copa flight for $218 for round trip Cancun CUN to Lima LIM.

Copa has the Cancun – Lima route on sale for as low as $218 for dates in every month from June through December 2015.

This reduces the cost significantly for a direct USA-Lima, Peru ticket with the addition of a trip to Cancun, for a day or two or a week or two depending on your desires.

Copa does have lower fares. You need to play around with dates.
