Park Hyatt Vienna officially opened this week in the historic building formerly the headquarters of the Austrian Hungarian Monarchy Bank in Vienna’s First District, an area listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This is the first Hyatt Hotel in Austria and the seventh Park Hyatt hotel in Europe.
Hyatt Gold Passport has a special offer for 5,000 bonus points with a two-night stay by August 31, 2014. Use special offer code: VIENNA for the 5,000 bonus points promotion.
My rate check for the weekend of August 8-10 showed prepaid, nonrefundable Advance Purchase rate of 338 EUR per night. That is one expensive room.
The rate drops 20% to 300 EUR per night with My Elite Rate available to all Platinum and Diamond Hyatt Gold Passport members.
I tried a dozen different dates between June and August and the Hyatt Daily Rate is 375 EUR for every date I checked. AAA or Senior rates drop the rate 10% to 338 EUR.
5,000 bonus points is a decent rebate, but the hotel rates at Park Hyatt Vienna are way out of my league. I might get a chance for a November getaway and I’ll see how rates look a few months after the initial buzz wears down.
Park Hyatt Vienna is Hyatt Gold Passport category 6 at 25,000 points per award night.
