Accommodations at Pebble Beach
Pebble Beach is also the location for three of the six hotels in Monterey County, California making the 2014 Conde Nast Traveler Gold List of Top 200 hotels in the USA.
One of the major advantages of staying at one of the three Pebble Beach hotels is the ability to confirm a golf tee time with your hotel booking.
There are plenty of people dropping big change to play golf on Pebble Beach Golf Links.
Pebble Beach is a private, gated community charging $9.75 to enter the southwestern 5,300 acres of the Monterey Peninsula. The 17-Mile Drive is a famous tourist attraction. The beauty is superb around Pebble Beach.
As a local, I rarely drive into Pebble Beach. Cycling is free and walking to the Inn at Spanish Bay from Asilomar Beach in Pacific Grove is my most frequent access point for Pebble Beach.
For similar beauty to Pebble Beach with better trails infrastructure is a hike along the peninsula at Point Lobos State Park beside Highway 1, south of Carmel.

Pebble Beach Lodge
Conde Nast Traveler 2014 Gold List The Lodge at Pebble Beach 93.0 rating.
The Lodge at Pebble Beach hotel website.
The Lodge at Pebble Beach was built in 1919 to coincide with the opening of the Pebble Beach Golf Links. Samuel F. B. Morse (a distant relative of the Samuel F. B. Morse in telegraph and code fame), with financial backing of Herbert Fleishacker, a prominent San Francisco banker, purchased 18,000 acres of the Monterey Peninsula land holdings of the Southern Pacific Railroad including the historic Hotel Del Monte in Monterey (now the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School). Morse is credited with preserving the Monterey pine forest features of the Monterey Peninsula and protecting the coastline of Pebble Beach by building golf courses. Oceanfront fairways and greens kept home construction away from the immediate coastline around portions of Pebble Beach.

My wife has rave reviews of The Spa at Pebble Beach. I was raving when I saw the price tag for her girl’s day outing, but high prices come with this territory.
The Inn at Spanish Bay

- 269 guest rooms in a 3 and 4 floor structure.
- The Inn is adjacent to The Links at Spanish Bay golf course at the northwestern portion of Pebble Beach. A wooden boardwalk through the sand dunes and along Asilomar State Beach in Pacific Grove gives public access for walkers to the hotel on the edge of Pebble Beach.

Three Pebble Beach Company hotels are included in the six Monterey County Conde Nast Traveler 2014 Gold List for Top 200 hotels in the USA.
Prices are high for these six Gold List hotels in Pebble Beach, Carmel Valley and Big Sur with typical rates topping $500 for nearly all rooms and over $1,000 per night as the low category room rates for three of the six hotels in Monterey County.
Fortunately, there are many hotel options on the Monterey Peninsula for loyalty travelers with Marriott in downtown Monterey, Hilton Garden Inn near downtown Monterey and Embassy Suites in Seaside. Hyatt Regency Monterey is on a golf course and Hyatt Highlands Inn on the coast south of Pebble Beach offers spectacular ocean views. InterContinental The Clement is directly on Cannery Row by the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Best Western has good locations with hotels on the beach, in the forest of Pacific Grove and near Cannery Row in Monterey.
Pacific Grove has some high-end B&Bs in historic Victorians. There are 50 or so independent, small hotels in Carmel and Pacific Grove and dozens of midscale and economy chain and independent hotels in Monterey within six miles of Pebble Beach.
