A PointBreaks preview of all the international hotels and some USA hotels for reward nights at 5,000 points was posted today on IHG Rewards Club Connect, IHG’s corporate managed community forum for IHG Rewards Club members. These reward nights will be offered beginning November 1 for stays from Nov 1 through January 31, 2014. These hotels will not be available for booking until November 1, around noon New York time, according to ChloeyAM, the IHG Rewards Club Connect community manager.
Funny to me to see that Carolyn, aka CaroReed, who posted the PointBreaks list still has her signature title listed as Priority Club Connect Community Manager.
I am currently in Las Vegas at the IHG Americas Leadership Conference as a press attendee and during a media dinner last night I slipped up and said Priority Club Rewards in a conversation with an IHG corporate manager who corrected me to say IHG Rewards Club.
There will be a Loyalty Traveler post coming based on my interview yesterday with Don Berg, VP Loyalty Programs, InterContinental Hotels Group. He was surprisingly candid about IHG Rewards Club and there are some insights I will share about things like why members are allowed to stack up multiple targeted promotion codes for hotel stay bonus points.
The IHG conference revealed to me that IHG is planning big rollouts of new systemwide initiatives January 2014, like free internet for all IHG Rewards Club members globally and amenity bags for elites, and I think we can expect some fun loyalty program offers to promote the IHG brands. This should be a good year for earning IHG Rewards Club points.
Anyway, here is the list of PointBreaks hotels posted so far. The full list with 143 hotels in the USA will post and be available for booking on Friday, November 1. Looks to me like this is the largest selection of PointBreaks hotels I ever recall seeing.
