Hilton Lake Las Vegas 1,000 bonus points per night to Jan 1, 2014

Hilton Lake Las Vegas is offering 1,000 HHonors bonus points per night during your stay from July 1, 2013 to January 1, 2014.

Rates are $119 to $139 over the next few weeks in August. AAA drops rates to $113 to $132. Those are higher rates than average when this hotel was Dolce, but far less than when it was a Ritz-Carlton.

Hilton Lake Las Vegas is HHonors Category 6 at 40,000 points per night.

Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort is located about 20 miles east from LAS McCarran Airport or about 24 miles from Bellagio Resort near the center of the Las Vegas Strip around most of the city’s major resort hotels and casinos. Lake Las Vegas is a private development off Lake Mead Parkway, east of Interstate 515 and the city of Henderson where there are three hotels, private residences, golf course, boats and water activities on the lake, a casino and boutique shopping and dining area in Monte Lago Village.

A few miles separate Lake Las Vegas from the water in Lake Mead, a major reservoir created by Hoover Dam across the Colorado River. Lake Mead National Recreation Area (NPS.gov), is seventeen miles away offering a premier desert boating and outdoors activities location. Just remember this is the desert. A scout leader died from heat exhaustion in early June when I was in the area on a day the temperature hit 115 F.

Hilton Lake Las Vegas (homepage) is the third brand in this Lake Las Vegas resort property centerpiece of the Monte Lago Village in the past three years. Ritz-Carlton failed financially in 2010. Dolce Hotels, primarily conference style hotel management, came in for two years. Rates remained relatively low for an upper upscale hotel property. Now the former Ritz-Carlton is Hilton Lake Las Vegas.

In the past, the other upper-upscale to luxury hotel at Lake Las Vegas was a Hyatt, Loews and currently the property separated from the village on the lake is the Westin Lake Las Vegas.

I like this area of Las Vegas as a place to be in a good hotel with a scenic desert location kind of away from all the bustle and hustle of Downtown and the Las Vegas Strip.

Three Resorts at Lake Las Vegas

1. Hilton Lake Las Vegas

2. Westin Lake Las Vegas

3. Aston MonteLago Village

I ranked these hotels in the order that I would prefer to stay based on location and amenities.
