Hyatt Century Plaza Los Angeles photos

Late April 2012 the streets were wet with puddles of rain as I drove from downtown Los Angeles to Hyatt Regency Century Plaza near Beverly Hills. A spring rain storm dropped about an inch of water. The rain had ended only a few hours earlier at daybreak.

Shopping Los Angeles mall style outside the door of Hyatt Century Plaza. And yeah, that is a real balcony with a sliding glass door. This is Los Angeles. Ten miles west to reach the beach. That can be 30 to 45 minutes driving time on surface roads. Fifteen minutes if you are lucky on the I-10 to the beach in Santa Monica.

The website states the Hyatt Century Plaza hotel has the largest ballroom on the west side of Los Angeles. I did not see it myself, but there were hundreds of people heading through the lobby to the ballroom area one time when I was passing through the place. You might find yourself at the Century Plaza hotel even if you are not staying the night.

  1. Stayed at HR Century Plaza week of Chrisma, wasn’t too pleased. I had a confirmed upgrade via the Diamond line using a Diamong suite upgrade. Upon arrival, I was told 1 out of 5 nights (the last night there) my suite would be occupied by a contracted event. Therefore, they refused to even give me the option of moving out for the 5th night…. Let alone a dirty bathroom, moldy ceiling and broken shower drain in the “penthouse” room. I called the front desk to let them know, an engineer came up and told me there is no problem. My baby’s crib disappeared multiple times during the trip and each time it took an 1+ hour to get a new crib! I would not recommend this hotel highly…
I was offered 20,000 points as compensation, I thought the manager was kidding! If I would’ve booked on points, it would have cost me 90,000.
