Analysis:

This is the best Hilton sale I have seen in some time that also coincided with my need for hotel rooms in San Francisco, Las Vegas and Miami over the next month.

Sample Rates:

San Francisco Friday Dec 14

San Francisco Tuesday Dec 18

image

Under $100 for downtown San Francisco on a weeknight are insanely low rates for 2012.

image

Las Vegas January 3 Hilton Grand Vacations Suites on the Strip $64.

image

Conrad Miami at $114 during December 2012 holiday week. Hilton Miami at $84.

Remember that high category rooms like suites are also 50% off Best Flexible Rates with this sale. I even applied for low cost Nor1 e-upgrades on my bookings to get a shot at discounted upgrades for the stays.

Great deal. This encouraged me to book 10 stays I wouldn’t otherwise have reserved, getting me back to Diamond.

This special is not showing me any love in London over the holiday week. Hilton Green Park is available (yuck).

  • palmerlaw December 10, 2012

$69 for Chicago Palmer House (no relation) this weekend. Woot!

  • Teck December 10, 2012

People have reported in FT that there is no stay/night credit, only points. But the pricing is fantastic!

  • Grant December 10, 2012

Great special, booked 2 nights 🙂

  • DK December 10, 2012

Oh my lord. I cannot BELIEVE how good this is!! I just booked a few nights just for the sake of it!

    THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS!

  • Mark December 10, 2012

Just booked 3 nights for a wedding in January. This rate is even cheaper than the discounted group rate for the wedding block!

    Thanks so much!

  • James December 10, 2012

Thank you so much for this heads up!

  • Acker December 11, 2012

Time to apologize. Just realized that London hotels are mostly booked for 12/31 so the rate wasn’t showing as available at the better hotels. I’m finding awesome rates at other spots and on nights other than NYE.

$85 a night for SFO this weekend. Thanks for posting!

@Teck – The reports on FlyerTalk are mixed posts on whether these rates earn stay credit. Diamond Desk has responded both ways.

Personally I have never known a Hilton rate to be eligible for points, yet not earn stay/night credit.

It would seem rather odd to me that Hilton would state the rate earns points, but not state the rate is ineligible for stay/night credit.

There has been no response from Hilton through page 8 of the FlyerTalk thread.

@ Ric Garrido – You are correct, but the difference for this time is this rate is friends and family rate, which means for employee’s friends and families, not for the general public, and employees rate do not earn anything in general. If you notice this rate is not published thru hilton.com, and it is not advertised anywhere, you actually have to click thru a special link to order to get these rates.

When I called HHONORS to inquire several hours ago, the agent said the same thing about F&F rate would not earn any miles/points/stays/nights credit, however you do get your gold or diamond benefits. It is a bit odd for us and the HHONORS agent on the phone to see it offer points, but that is what it is, and the agent also mentioned it did mentioned in his memo about this promotion.

Other than myself calling, someone from FT had also emailed HHONORS, and the reply was posted in the thread as well, points only and nothing else.

Hilton is really ruining themselvs. Have you seen they now have Resort fees for all hotels of about $20-25.00 per night and those fees include items that Gold/Diamond would get for free as a benefit. Are Gold/Diamond now have to pay these fees? Spa, Fitness, and Internet were free for Gold/Diamond Members. Now they tack on the resort fees which included these items and I expect we will have to pay the resort fee. Talk about devalue loyal members.
